HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING AT TEMPLE SINAI
- Erev Shabbat services at 7:30. It’s the middle of summer, our “quiet season,” when many seasonal residents are away, and yet nearly 100 people still come together at Temple Sinai each Friday night, often even more. What draws them here week after week? Come be part of it this Friday night.
- Tuesday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m. – Temple Sinai Honored by the Delray Beach City Commission. We are proud to share that Temple Sinai will be recognized by the Delray Beach City Commission for our contributions to the community. The presentation will take place at City Hall (100 NW 1st Ave, Delray Beach).
- Thursday, July 16 at 11 a.m. Meet with the Temple Sinai Book Club in our lobby. This month’s selection is The Goddess of Warsaw by Lisa Barr. Friday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m. “Thanksgiving in July” Shabbat Dinner. Join us for a festive and delicious Shabbat dinner with a Thanksgiving twist! Flyers are available in the lobby. Take advantage of early bird pricing by signing up by July 15. Final deadline to register is July 20—advance registration is required for all attendees.
- Open House – Friday, August 14 at 5:30
- Invite your friends to join us for hors d’oeuvres, wine, and schmoozing before Shabbat services. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know our clergy, our warm and welcoming members, and experience the spirit of Temple Sinai. RSVPs are appreciated by August 10 to help us plan, but are not required. Please call 561.276.6161 ext. 8102.
- Rabbi Steve & Cantor Shir’s August Classes:Thursday, August 20 at 3 p.m. Elul Rabbi Steve will discuss the meaning and practices of the holy month of Elul, the 30 days prior to Rosh Hashanah.
- Thursday, August 27 at 3 p.m. High Holy Day Boot Camp. Rabbi will explain the meaning of some of the more significant prayers in our High Holy Day prayer book and Cantor Shir will teach some of the special High Holy Day melodies. RSVP for these classes by calling 561.276.6161 ext. 7101 or emailing Office@TempleSinaipbc.org with “August Classes” in the subject, As always, the classes will be on Zoom and then on YouTube.\
- Saturday, September 5th at 7:30 Selichot Service
- Sunday, September 6 at 1:40 p.m. Brotherhood Baseball Field Trip to Marlins Stadium in Miami. Marlins vs. Chicago Cubs Price includes game, snacks, food, drinks. Cut off Thursday, August 6th. Look for flyers in the lobby.
