OUR RABBI AND REBBETZIN
Rabbi Dr. Steven Moss and Rebbetzin Judy Moss came to Temple Sinai in the fall of 2022. We look forward to their serving our congregation and community for many years to come.
Rabbi Moss is active in the Delray Beach community at large serving as chaplain to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department and the Delray Beach Police Department.  He embodies the title Rabbi (teacher) in conducting a Friday afternoon Shabbat service for residents at Harbor’s Edge Rehab and in his sermons and classes at Temple Sinai. A published author of books and articles, he is currently working on a translation of a Hebrew text from the 17th century used by members of Chevra Kadisha organizations in caring for the sick, the dying, and the dead.
Rebbetzin Judy Moss has been a blessing to our congregation. She is everywhere, working tirelessly on projects such as the Women’s Seder, Sisterhood fundraising, and the annual Gala. She welcomes new members, and lends a hand wherever needed.
We are delighted and grateful for this dynamic team’s devotion to our congregation.

OUR CANTORIAL SOLOIST

Born and raised on Israeli Air Force bases, Shir’s musical path was shaped by a home filled with patriotic spirit and rich Jewish tradition. During her service in the Israel Defense Forces, she conducted and directed performances with the IDF’s military performance ensembles. Since then, her voice has taken her from leading High Holiday and Shabbat services at congregations, and performing at official ceremonies for Israeli embassies and consulates around the world, to starring inleading roles on international opera stages — including Mimì in La Bohème, the title role in Tosca, Ariadne in Strauss’s Ariadne Auf Naxos, and featured roles in contemporary operas such as Jennifer Higdon’s Cold Mountain, which received multiple GRAMMY® Awards.

Beyond the stage, Shir is deeply committed to nurturing the Next generation of artists. She is the founder and CEO of the Rozzen School of the Arts,  home to ACAYA (American College Agency for Young Artists), a program that supports outstanding Musicians pursue admission to leading performing arts institutions in the U.S.

Shir brings a unique blend of classical excellence, Jewish spirit, and heartfelt presence to her work as a cantorial soloist, musician, educator, and community leader. Every note she sings is a prayer from the heart to the heart — inviting others to feel, remember, and belong.
